Mein #EMail-#Provider erhöht die Preise um 30% und ich weiß noch nicht, wie ich das finde. Da der Vertrag schon 16j besteht und ich mich an die letzte Erhöhung nicht mehr erinnern kann, mag das möglicherweise legitim sein.

Vielleicht sollte ich in einen kleineren Tarif wechseln, den Cloud-Speicher nutze ich eh kaum noch.

Und mittelfristig die eigene Infrastruktur ausbauen, wobei #Mailserver echt nervig sind.

Eine E-Mail-Adresse zu ändern, die 20j(?) im Einsatz ist, ist aber eh illusorisch. 🤔

Interesting how many #SMTP #spammers have seemingly valid reverse DNS records these days, and lack matching forward confirmed records instead. I remember times when it was the other way around. #MailServer

#Strato is für mich ein ganz erbämliches Lädchen.
Möchte man einen #SPF Eintrag im #DNS für den #Mailserver setzen so gibt es die folgenden Optionen:
- Standard Strato Server setzen
- Hardfail mit dem MX record als whitelist
- Softfail mit dem MX record als whitelist

Man kann zwar eigene TXT records anlegen, die dürfen aber keine Sonderzeichen enthalten. Ich dachte zuerst es wäre ein Witz, aber das ist tatsächlich deren Ernst.

#Google verwirft gerne eingehende Emails von Domains, ohne SPF.

Kennt ihr das Phänomen, dass Mails mit vielen angehängten Bildern, die im Fließtext eingebettet sind, dem Mailclient Probleme bereiten? Ich hatte gestern eine Mail mit 20 Bildern á 1,5 mb. iOS Mail meldet „Diese Nachricht kann nicht angezeigt werden, da ein Problem aufgetreten ist.“ und Thunderbird versucht die Mail krampfhaft zu laden, wird dabei unbedienbar und stürzt fast ab. 🤷‍♂️

Apropos #Mailserver und #rspamd, hat sich auch jemand anders schon mal Gedanken zur Vertrauenswürdigkeit von #rspamd und deren dynamisch von rspamd.com nachgeladenen Configs gemacht? Hat das zB jemand angesichts der Entwicklungen der letzten Jahre abgestellt? Gibt es alternative Feeds, z.B. von Heinlein?

@kuketzblog BTW ausgehend gibt es einen separaten #Mailserver für Mails an die deutschen Freemail-Marken von #Microsoft (live.de, hotmail.de usw.). Microsoft Deutschland hat nämlich ganz klare Vorstellungen davon, von wo sie Mails annehmen und von wo nicht, basierend auf IPv4 Netzsegmenten. Die haben nichts mit dem Rest der Branche (inkl. MS Office365 oder internationaler MS-Dienste) zu tun, ich tippe daher auf nicht mehr beherrschte Konfiguration aus den 90ern.

appears when I try to send any mail to icloud.com users. BUT: Sometimes it works. Most of the time it doesn't.

WTF. Why?!

Is Apple randomly killing connections? Any clue why this might happen? (it's not IPv4 vs IPv6 😉 and my mailserver is not on a popular blocklist)

Wenn es an SPF liegt sollten Deine Mails rausgehen, aber ggf. vom Gegenüber geblockt werden. Gmail antwortet das sogar.

@hhg Set up a #nextcloud server on an encrypted #raspberrypi system at home. As far as I know it has a #mailserver included as well as other cloud services: calendar (#CalDav), reminder, cloud file storage, contacts (#CardDav) for example

Even though #protonmail and #tutanota are encrypted and #opensource their services work only with their own mail clients

@stanford I'd #blacklist their #mailserver due to unsolicited eMails [#Spamming] until they apologized for their #Spam...

That usually works well.
