Fixed a couple of regressions in the v2.11 release cycle already, and now I'm flushing out memory leaks.

Yeah, my way of relaxing is a bit different from yours 😄

I was invited to join 's private Maintainer Community and participated in their "Personal ecology for open source maintainers: self-care, and avoiding burnout" workshop, together with ~40 fellow maintainers.

The result of our discussion is a new Open Source Guide published about Maintaining Balance for Open Source Maintainers:

opensource.guide/maintaining-b

is not fun. If you feel struggling as , it's important to know you are not alone, and help is available.

People who package Go software for probably noticed the deprecation of EGO_SUM in favor of dependency tarballs.

While the mailing lists and IRC channels provide plenty of opportunity to discuss how to supply dependencies for Go software, here I share a way to use GitHub releases to host dependency tarballs as an external Gentoo contributor, like proxied maintainer, GURU contributor, or overlay :

In a world dominated mainly by few I feel sorry for web browser projects that try to come-out in the open and make a living out of this, especially when they don’t have a fully-fledged team behind to tackle all the logistics…

textbrowser.github.io/dooble/

I just wish and his to become more renowned for the hard work put into this project. He’s been doing this for quite some time ever since this browser was initially released. I find this really :100a:

@mike_hales I'll try to explain...

@ntnsndr tooted,
"BTW I love Material for MKDocs:)"

I asked @lynnfoster what he meant. She said, that's what she used for valueflo.ws/

Which I should have known because I helped a little bit in setting it up, but I have no memory, and Lynn did most of the work and is the ongoing maintainer.

is a crucial job, BTW...

My guide on burnout and departure planning:

"All maintainers eventually leave (or stop leading) projects.... It's worth taking a moment to imagine: what would a GOOD departure look like for your involvement with your project? Or... what endings or departures would be...clearer, more respectful, less wasteful?"

It was pleasant to learn that the volunteers who publish Wikipedia Signpost find it useful as they consider sustainability:

Yesterday I read the heartbreaking last cry for help from the main core-js . It's the actual manifestation of the widely-known "Dependency" . As so often, open source work is not sustainable.

If you are in the world, consider supporting this integral part of the modern web.

My project ssdp-responder (internet icon in Windows for your embedded device) has randomly got build failures in over the past week+ ... couldn't understand what it was until I talked to Yann on IRC and he gently pointed out that it was my own packaging that was at fault. LOL 😂

That last release was created using . It’s not as intuitive as it claims to be, but usage was easier in a few ways compared to git.

I’ll be exploring this a bit more and will push a sapling segment out somewhere in the next days.

It’s not like git so I want to understand what information makes sense to show to the user (me).

Go and give Elio's vscode-front-matter repo a ⭐ on GitHub as it's nearing 1K and he deserves that before the start of the weekend.

Boost this for the world to see! Together we can make a difference 🙌
