Phew, that was a busy #MakersHour! Thanks @Maker_of_Things for scheduling (and rescheduling due to possible server crash and then unrescheduling when it was all ok again. )
@52square @Workshopshed @Maker_of_Things @makershour
Ooh, who is that? (Like I need another thing to want to do!)
@52square @Maker_of_Things @makershour
Maybe you could get away with saying "miniature materials"...
@52square @Maker_of_Things @makershour
I think woodwoolclothpaper could be a thing.
I think you've just invented woodchip wallpaper....
@suearcher @diyelectromusic @Maker_of_Things @makershour well that took a strange turn, wasn't expecting that to be the conclusion to a discussion about natural crafts.#MakersHour
@Workshopshed @diyelectromusic @Maker_of_Things @makershour
I remember an episode of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue when they re-enacted the restaurant scene from When Harry Met Sally, on kazoo and swannee whistle, with the swannee whistle doing the Meg Ryan part. I was scarred for life....
@Maker_of_Things @makershour A5 I've worked with most materials so it looks like I've to look forward to a year working with glass.

May Morris, his daughter? She was suggested by a couple of folk on #MakersHour over on Twitter yesterday too!

It's one of those leaps, isn't it. Anyone fiddling with a bit of string will eventually make a loop-through-a-loop. But to see a purpose to it, and then how to manipulate it with a pair of sticks....
@diyelectromusic @Maker_of_Things @makershour
Oh! I think I might have seen reference to it. but had forgotten.
*adds to Christmas list*
Well, ok, maybe a couple of generations down the line when they'd perfected it.
I have found that is a problem with the small folk in our lives. They always need/want something else, a little better.
The person who invented cheese. Because, there would be cheese.
See also, chocolate bars.
But more seriously, Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, to see them create my childhood.
(I did actually meet Peter Firmin, and Mrs Firmin, who knitted the Clangers)
@gadgetoid @Maker_of_Things @makershour
It's amazing how we put off replacing even things we don't like! #MakersHour
@Maker_of_Things @makershour ah yes being reluctant to spend £10 on a tiny tiny duster but also wanting very specific bristles has been a large part of my problem 🤣 #MakersHour
