->Personally I'll probably start with itch. Judging from my own circle here, it's the place most people go.

->discoverability (for the artist) via ko-fi's own website is extremely low. Gumroad fried their own brand in a row over nft's some months ago. Since they both have the advantage of an easy start - the basics of the webshop is already built, and the platform is well known - it's a case of chose the flaw you're ok with and hope potential buyers are too. I set up a poll asking where people here prefer to buy digital downloads. The most popular alternatives in the comments were

•itch.io
•Gumroad

The winner of the poll was

•ko-fi shop

One commenter pointed out that they rather buy directly from artists, so I add

•self-owned webpage/shop

It feels along the lines of Mastodon's vibe. And considering how platforms rise and fall it's a smart move to have one.

Since I'm figuring things out; which one is your prefered platform to _buy_ digital downloads like printables, pdf comics, and wallpapers?

(Please boost, not just to increase the amount of people answering, but since I suspect more artists than me want to know. Thank you! 💐)
