On the 17th day of #Crustmas my true love gave to me Laurentaeglyphea neocaledonica (Richer de Forges, 2006). Like the coelacanth, this group of crustaceans (the infraorder Glypheidea) was thought to be completely extinct until a specimen was trawled up from the depths of the Pacific near Australia. #crustacea #arthropoda #decapoda #malcostraca
