Lawyers and therapists are using outdated models for assessing victimization by pathologizing victims of violence. This is particularly fatalistic when the victim is a woman of color, disabled or living in poverty. This is an important note as often the law and social services only views perfect victims as worthy of aid. Often the rape or murder of prostitutes, black women and poor women is viewed as a necessary evil or a woman's fault. #maleviolence #law #socialwork #rape #racism
