❝Do I have to grow up?❞

1️⃣ Sweet character-driven episode where Mary-Lou gets her first period and Gwen, usually the baddie, is shown in a very favourable light. Really being there for her friend. For once.

2️⃣ She’s also central to the lacrosse b-story.

3️⃣ Matron teaches a class in biology in one amusing sequence.

❝We have to speak up for ourselves. This is wrong.❞

✅ A busy season premiere. Some major characters are gone, and there are new ones. There are some amusing moments, thanks to Irene, and moments of conflict between the girls, thanks to Gwen. Mention is made of a ghost and of horse thieves. Most important, Darrell gets to be Darrell and step in when an injustice is about to perpetrated.

✅ #ChristienAnholt (#RelicHunter) joins the show.

#MaloryTowers s2e13 (2021) - 9/10
Satisfying conclusion to all major storylines.

1️⃣ First half is pure #EnidBlyton, with the gang finally finding the buried treasure they’ve been searching for all season. Thus saving the school, of course.

2️⃣ Second half is character-driven. Gwen continues to be a fascinating-if-flawed character. Back in season one, episode four, Darrell faced the possibility of being ostracised by her peers. Now, it’s Gwen’s turn. And compelling drama it is.
