Ahhh. Ten years since the death of one of my favourite authors. Writer of strange fiction and science fiction, I'm raising a toast of a wee dram of malt whisky to Iain (M) Banks.

Sunday afternoon dram, watching the football.

Thompson Bros. SRV5, 8 y/o blended malt, NCF, NC, 48.5%.

Bright and fruity, melon and pears. Touch of citrus, caramel and smoky and waxy.. More fruit, banana and green apples. Warming smoky, spicy finish.

Great sipper for a dreich Sunday afternoon.
