A friend wants to get rid of their #malus hardware to do 3D rendering and just 1 year ago it felt like it was possible to get a good rig under 2k€, but now... there are only Nvidia laptops and they cost about 2k or more 😢

I see. For me it's a principal. They don't drive innovation, buy up competitors who actually innovate, have lots of shitty business practices, are bad for the environment (anti-repair and others), and lots more if one look deeper.
Since I don't agree with what they do, I don't give them money to continue with their shit.
Though #Malus doesn't have a dominant position in the PC market, they do in the premium smartphone market.

The new M1s from #Malus do allow any OS to be installed on it, but they provide no docs whatsoever for devs. This is why #AsahiLinux is taking a while to get everything right, but they are making great progress and even achieving better performance in some scenarios than MacOS.
