Looks like Mastodon still has some work to do on the polling feature, especially on the iOS apps. Mastodon app (purple) gives wrong number of total votes and nonsensical percentages. Mammoth app (blue) makes no attempt at percentage data. Neither showed whether or not my own vote was counted... #MastodonPolls #MastodonUX #MammothApp #MastodonApp #ios

The intent of showing a quote post truncated is to discourage the dogpile effect of quote posting.
