Te Āpiti - #Manawatū Gorge Tawa Loop Walk (4.1km/ 2h) a bit underwhelming compared to description, but did include a sculpture of Whātonga (a Māori warrior) & a glimpse of the gorge itself. Some nice countryside on the Manawatū Scenic Route (brown koru signs), but no stopping bays from which to admire it. Sunset in Rangiwahia to end the day.

Im aware there's quite a visible Voices for Freedom brigade in that area, & I'm told there's quite pronounced representation of Hobsons Choice members as well but haven't verified

Awesome turnout to the PN Knights Lightsaber meet up. 24 Jedi & Sith in all. I should have worn the Jedi garb but given I got very hot dueling, I’m kinda glad I didn’t. By daughters partner is getting quite good with his dulling too.

There’s also a new fan film in the works which should be a lot of fun.

I've lived and biked around Palmy for a long time - frequently making jokes about a head wind both ways to and from Massey or anywhere. I borrowed a friend's ebike so I could enjoy an outing with my uncle who is not quite 80, who is a frequent ebiker all around Tāmaki-makau-rau. There was wind but it was no problem, so much fun!

In #2020 I moved to the #Manawatu (which needs a #macron over the "u") District and was pleased to find that at least three of my second-cousins whose birth-#surname was #Forlong lived within an hour's drive and that that radius included our common great-grandfather's #tombstone. That man, #GordonForlong, a lawyer turned preacher, has an entry in the Dictionary of #NewZealand #Biography. .
