The next #iOS alpha release of #ManfredApp is out. IMHO, the app is already usable but still lacks some important feautures.

I am looking for testers who are willing to experiment with the app and provide some early feedback. Feel free to DM me.

The alpha release adds the following features:

✅ Notification center (no push, yet)
✅ Improved discovery screen.
✅ Improved server selection screen.
✅ Support for showing polls.
✅ Support for voting in polls.
✅ Support for adding media to posts.
✅ Support for video playback of GIFs and Videos
✅ Support for approving follow requests (in the notification center).
✅ Bugfixes and smaller usability improvements.

The next steps will be:

- Providing an Android version
- Refactoring of the code and improvements under the hood, which are required to improve posts (like updating the same post, if you interacted with it elsewhere)

It was a productive week for #ManfredApp. I added support for the in-app playpack of #GIFs and #videos. I also added support for viewing and voting in #polls.

I improved the search results by introducing separate tabs for profiles, posts and hashtags in the search results.

Last but not least, Manfred can now add media to posts.

I decided to postpone support for adding polls to posts, and instead start working on the introduction a notification centre.

Still far from feature complete, but I will then invite more users to test Manfred.

However, should the project not be commercially successful, I will probably make it open source. Feel free to follow this account for further updates. If things go as planned, I will let more people join the alpha testing, soon.

Just implemented that images in #ManfredApp are now displayed in a scrollable grid, if there is more than one image in a post.

Also added an ALT text indicator and a tooltip, which displays the text.

Manfred will get there, step by step ✌️

Today I started to invite the first users into the #iOS public beta of the #ManfredApp 🚀

I am currently working on usability improvements. The next update will also fix issues with hashtags in posts from non-#Mastodon #Fediverse clients.

To be honest, after seeing all the great #Mastodon clients released in the last few weeks (like #Ivory, #Mammoth and #Mona for example). I lacked the motivation to continue working on #ManfredApp.

Well, I decided to continue. But since these clients already have so many features implemented, Manfred should also have more features implemented before going public in any way.

However, if you are interested in joining the development of Manfred as a tester, feel free to contact me.

Happy #Caturday everyone. I spent the last few days working on the server selection screens for the #ManfredApp.

I found an API that lists the servers on https://joinmastodon.org. But I think it's unofficial, so I won't use it in the final version of the #Mastodon client.

Work on the #ManfredApp for #Mastodon started a few days ago.

I started by integrating a browser for the federated timeline, just to get the feel right (pagination, scrolling, ...). A drilldown from the timeline to the hashtags is also possible. Also dark and light mode… check!
