Interesting talk on CinePaint at the Manchester Linux Users’ Group today, a fork of GIMP. One point that caught my attention is that it still uses GTK 1, which is a devil to build on newer systems (it is pre 64 bit). I might have to take a look at getting some old GTK 1 projects up and running, such as the Komodo software used at the University of Manchester for ARM assembly.
Really interesting talk from @penguin42 at the Manchester Linux Users Group today about retrieving teletext from VCR tapes. I didn't know that teletext was broadcast during gaps and that VCRs captured them.
Just worked through 'githug' https://rubygems.org/gems/githug/versions/0.5.0 a tutorial on #git with people from #manlug via a teleconference - we all learnt bits, even those who use git regularly.
Nice little game at todays #ManLUG 'Linux user group; doing an A-Z and people suggesting commands for each letter - certainyl bought up a few each of us hadn't thought of.
