Big news for Rilke scholars and fans: 96 years after the poet's death, the descendants of Rainer Maria Rilke have (finally) agreed to sell his papers to the Deutsches Literaturarchiv in Marbach. A press conference is scheduled for Thursday in Berlin.

Black Friday started early in France, with yesterday's online auction of literary #manuscripts from the Aristophil #collections:

All these lots were "leftovers" that hadn't attracted any bids in the earlier sales and were now offered at deep discounts (at least compared to the initial, inflated estimations). Some exceptional rarities could thus be acquired at a real bargain. Most of the older items came from the fabulous collection patiently assembled by several generations of the de Flers family and centered on the Académie française (see the 2010 publication "L'Académie française au fil des lettres").
This sale almost concluded the five-year liquidation of the notorious Aristophil business - one final, post-ultimate live auction of "Varia" will take place on December 1:
