Here are my :

-Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
-Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
-Barrow of Winter by H. M. Long

I also got about a third of the way through The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas, but that’ll count for April once it’s finished.

I lost a lot of momentum in March, but that’s okay. Getting back into a few TV shows and the Diablo 4 beta weekends are what I’m blaming the slowdown on.

Last batch of :

Two popular contemporary authors, one with a massive novel about the Nigerian-Biafran Civil war and the other a slim volume imagining the monks who might have first settled the barren Irish island of Skellig Michael.

That's it! Have you read any of these? What do you recommend in March?

3. The Queen's Price by Anne Bishop

Will I ever stop reading these books even though they always leave me feeling dissatisfied when I'm done? All signs point to no. :blobcatgooglytrash:

A better book than The Queen's Weapons, yes. Saetien's ending was pretty good, though I still want to sit down w/ Bishop & ask what's her trauma re: teen girls. Daemon's still a terrible parent & a terrible teacher. The school plotline continues to be a mess. He's not Saeten & never will be.

2. Yakuza Fiance 1&2 by Asuka Konishi

Vol 1 was a reread to refresh myself for vol 2. Premise is that the granddaughter of a Osaka gang leader (Yoshino) gets engaged to the grandson of a Tokyo gang leader (Kirishima). But Kirishima is an unhinged sadomasochist & Yoshino's goal is to keep him on the hook for one year after which... who knows? (I suspect all-out gang war.)

Vol 2 introduces Shouma who I like WAY more than Kirishima, so here I am w/ 2nd ML syndrome lmao.

1. Blood on the Tracks 1 by Shuzo Oshimi

I read the first couple volumes of this before it was licensed, but I'm circling back to read the official Kodansha/Vertical editions. This is a horror series (not be a surprise if you're familiar w/ Oshimi's work) about a boy who discovers his mother is not quite right, shall we say. (Understatement.) Oshimi is a master of imbuing tension & anxiety in the most innocuous of panels here.
