Die #MareGo hat nach ihrer ersten Rettung gestern im Handelshafen von Lampedusa festgemacht. Nach der Ausschiffung der geretteten Menschen wurde die Crew darüber informiert, dass die Mare*Go für 20 Tage blockiert ist. Zudem muss eine Geldstrafe gezahlt werden, weil gegen das italienische Gesetzesdekret vom 2. Januar 2023 verstoßen worden sei.

"Wir möchten jedoch betonen, dass dieses neue Gesetz ein weiteres Instrument ist, um Menschen auf der Flucht dem Ertrinken im Meer zu überlassen und diejenigen, die sich solidarisch zeigen, davon abzuhalten, einzugreifen. Wir sind daher der Meinung, dass dieses Gesetz angefochten werden muss, und sind dankbar für die NGOs, die bereits Klagen gegen dieses Gesetz eingereicht haben." (Statement MARE*GO)
