I don’t think this is #MargotKidder’s fault, I just think the script could have conveyed her sense of wonder and amazement more convincingly. Maybe that’s how a real person would behave, but it just doesn’t work here. Probably they should have written things to avoid putting her in scream situations as much.

- The music is great.
- Christopher Reeve is great.
- The effects are okay.
- #LexLuthor, his crew, and his plan are all dumb, although they are funny.
- #MargotKidder is not a very good #LoisLane and is saved by the script. (No I don’t know who would have been a better choice, inasmuch as #KatharineHepburn was a little too old for the role.)
I remember being pretty disappointed that #JimmyOlsen wasn’t a redhead, but I don’t care about that now.
I have a few new opinions, though:
- The film is very white.
- #GeneHackman and #NedBeatty are criminally underused (which I didn’t know on release because I had no idea what great actors they are).
- #MarlonBrando seems to be sleepwalking through his part.
- The Superman theme is my favorite #JohnWilliams composition.

#art/#history: confession time. i have never watched margot kidder (born 17 october in 1948) as lois lane in the 'superman' franchise. i'm sorry, i'm sorry. i was too busy appreciating her in 'the amityville horror' & 'a quiet day in belfast'.
as i look at her filmography, i realise how much catching up to do - & i will do, because there's a cosy nook in my heart just for margot & her fearlessness. she was always busy lending her voice to environmental causes (& was nicked at standing rock), left-wing politics, LGBT rights & mental health awareness. before she took her life at the age of 69, margot would feed the wolves who roamed the mountains behind her montana home. she asked her friends to leave her body for them when she died. they compromised &, instead, sprinkled her ashes amongst the lillies that her bear friends eat.
