@daisyeverlasting I just looked up our photos. Here is the pale wombat we found near the wharf. It looks like it was even paler in colour than your wombat, so maybe it's a different animal. It's not like wombats are rare on Maria Island.

Wombats have rear facing pouches. So as this mum is walking along eating grass, the little baby Wombat is having a little grassy nibble as well!
Also they have cubic poo, I'll post a picture of that next 😂
