上条嘟嘟里有一张图上的文字有一点心酸又好笑：老一辈的人开始在唐人街的中餐馆里聚餐。当时有很多客家人，他们在士嘉堡成立了客家协会，后来拓展到万锦，并发展到了600多个成员。随着更多香港移民的到来，不满情绪加剧。加拿大华人联合会四处发传单，通知新移民：不要大声喧哗，不要向邻居挥手，不要询问他们的年纪，也不要问他们的房子多少钱……而这些曾是华人习以为常的对话。

#Muslims in #Canada are calling for more #protection & a serious engagement with #Islamophobia after a man entered a mosque brandishing a weapon, threatened congregants, damaged mosque property, & tried to run over worshippers in the parking lot.
At a #PressConference at the #Islamic Society of #Markham on Monday, Qasir Nasir Khan, the mosque's president, said the incident had shocked the community.

#Markham is suburban hell. 6 lane roads. Giant parking lots. And traffic congestion everywhere. I never want to do that again. That and I normally get around by bike so it's double the unpleasantness.
