I guess we won't be going beyond #Marple today, because that's the last place wide enough to turn the boat around. Let's see if and what Canal & River Trust reports about Wood End lift bridge later today.

If it's a lengthy repair, that's no big deal. Life on a narrowboat is about adjusting to the conditions on the canals.

Finished reading the new Marple collection last night. 12 short stories by 12 contemporary authors, in the style of Agatha Christie. There were tons of references to the classic mysteries. The stories I thought were a mixed bunch - some I found very readable and good tellings, others I struggled to focus on. Definitely spotted a couple of authors I might follow up on.

I spent the last two weeks watching #FatherBrown and Agatha Christie's #Marple, then reading The Innocence of Father Brown and The Murder at the Vicarage. I learned that sometimes it's fun to go back and read the source material and sometimes it's a chore.

The ‘Bertram’s hotel’ episode of #Marple on #ItvX is excellent, sooo many denouements!

We're rewatching "Agatha Christie's Marple" and started on the fourth series today (with Julia McKenzie). I had completely forgotten how marvellous this 2009 version of "A Pocket Full of Rye" is: Amazing cast and acting, beautifully done, and also very funny at times. What joy!
