In Western #Australia #Marri #trees (known as #GnaamaBoorna in the local #Aboriginal #Menang language) are pruned over decades, even centuries to take on a bowl or well shape and collect & store #water.
(Gnaama = hole for water, & Boorna = tree or timber.)
Living up to four hundred years, they are often found in ceremonial areas, along #SongLines, or high on hills where water was hard to access.
