Spanish incumbent #rail operator #Renfe started trial runs in #France. Renfe aims to launch its own cross-border services on the #Marseilles - #Madrid & #Lyon - #Barcelona routes, thus competing with #SNCF.

Incumbents don't need to be guided by the hand by the local incumbent on cross-border routes. They are grown-up companies that can perfectly do it on their own.

And in the Single #European Rail Area, all rail operators must be able to cross all borders on their own.
