Saint Martin of Tours was a Roman soldier who became a bishop. He’s known for cutting his cloak in half to share it with a beggar during a snowstorm.


The #goose became his symbol when feeling unworthy of becoming a bishop, he hid in a geese stable. The quacking of the birds betrayed his location, and the people of Tours had him consecrated as a bishop.
