In 2021, the #EPATasmania approved an expansion of the Tasmanian Advanced Minerals #SilicaMine. This #mine expansion proposal proposed for a patch of forest just north of takayna, with old-growth Eucalypt, Blackwood, and #Rainforest. It is also habitat for #EndangeredSpecies like the #TasmanianDevil, #SpottedTailQuoll, and the Tasmanian #MaskedOwl.
