I just feel incredibly sad about this situation. A lot of people have opinions but they forget that lives have been affected including the lad that was accused and the woman who made the accusations then retracted them. I don’t have the energy to debate anyone about it, so please don’t.

Okay so two things I want to raise.

First is regarding #MasonGreenwood I understand the United statement and although they did the right thing, the lifeline they gave him was unnecessary.

Second is regarding #IvanToney it's sad that he's unable to give his addiction the acceptance it requires. At least he acknowledges he needs to talk more.

@danielbruce I am as split as you are. However, for me the most important thing is the justice system didn't declare him not guilty, they just dropped the charges, which is very strange. Also, ManUtd's women team has been against his returning to the club. As much as I admire Mason's football skills, I believe the club should offload him asap. They may (and should) support him on the path to rehabilitation, but he should not play for us again.

This is a disgrace & paints an extremely negative picture of our so called justice system.
We all heard the video, and I'm afraid, it is a case of Manchester United protecting their asset. Just like they did when they reportedly ignored numerous previous complaints regarding his behaviour.
Greenwood is a stain on society, let alone sport, which is fermented by a toxic and amoral (to say the very least!) football club.

Sadly, this raises more questions.

I can understand the police not wanting to comment further, but I would like to know WHY the charges were dropped.

Given how many #rape cases don't lead to convictions, I'm worried about pressure on the alleged victim or lack of support.

I am a Manchester United fan. However, I cannot support any player if they have done something horrific like rape.

I'm sure the media coverage will carry on for some time.
