Tonight’s #genealogy project was the #translation of the #death record of Antonina Załęska, who was the SIL of my grandaunt by marriage. I downloaded the record from #Geneteka #poland. It was written in pre-revolutionary #russian. Like most #ancestors from that side of my #family she was born and spent her whole life in Ciechanów, north of #Warsaw in modern #Masovian #Voivodeship. The translation is in the alt-text. #geneadons #Ancestry #familyhistory #CongressPoland

It’s still early evening here in metro #nyc but I’ve already completed initial #research on a first #cousin twice removed, Jan Czarnecki (5 May-13 Aug 1882). He was born and died in #Ciechanów, then in the #Płock Governorate of #CongressPoland in the #russianempire (today in Ciechanów County in the #Masovian #Voivodeship ). The records were beautifully written in #russian script, making for easy reading. It appears as though my #greatgrandfather reported Jan’s death to the registrar.
