J'ai une histoire particulière avec cet opéra et j'ai eu par deux fois la chance de pouvoir assister en live à ce passage chanté par Fleming (un récital et une avant-première de l'opéra complet).
La dernière note, littéralement stratosphérique, n'est due à aucun post traitement en studio. Elle la sort en live avec une telle puissance qu'un frisson m'a parcouru les deux fois.

ellington is my favorite composer bar none, but he isn't often considered a 'classical' composer, and i'll just say that if gershwin (whose songs i infinitely prefer to his long-form works) is classical, so is ellington - if having done a longform work is a criterion, 'black, brown and beige' checks the box (and listen to the 50s version with mahalia jackson).
