I am working on a #Accessible #WordPress plugin to fetch your #Mastodon feed. I saw someone wanted this the other day, and I had a look to see if I could find any. I only saw 12 plugins for #Mastadon in the #WordPress directory. While there were plugins to display the feed, they were not as intuitive as I would like.

Let’s see how this goes! Twitter and Facebook are stagnant and just generally crap these days. Let’s see how #Mastadon goes in terms of #networking and making new #developer #friends and #connections.

I would rather see a quick anecdote about your pet dog or a grumble you have about some political event than a bald link to what corporate media is reporting about a celeb/politician's scandals and self-promotions.

By all means post a link to a media story, but adding a reflection of your own, even just a single sentence, about why it's significant to you is what makes it interesting.

I feel like no one ever boosts #Mastadon by saying that there are no ads. After browsing another social media site for 2 minutes, no ads is really a killer feature of Mastadon.

How can I half follow someone on #mastadon

Somepeople toot alot and some a little, i just want to see 50percent of someones toots, how can i do that?

Is it possible? Maybe by patching the instance?

Why do people leave Twitter and come here to complain about Twitter? Ya we get it, that's why we're here, we don't need constant updates about the hellscape it's becoming.

There is an ongoing issue with the perception of #mastadon as a single entity.

On step we could take is to clearly delineate between the greater #fediverse and the federation of blocked instances. I am of the opinion that it would not be inappropriate to refer to that group as the #confediverse . The advantage is that they would regard this as a compliment.

@fsf Also worth noting is that you can follow the #FSF channel (or any other #Peertube channel) in #Mastadon / #Pleroma / #Misskey etc, to see new videos in your timeline and like and comment on them. 💕

The thing that really bothers me about #mastadon #discoverability is the lack visibility re comments on posts. Not only are you not guaranteed to see all comments, but you are not even aware that you are missing parts of the conversation. I understand the technical difficulties, but damn I hope it can be fixed.

Alright I'm going flaunt my incomplete understanding of how the #fediverse works.

But when I hit follow on a users profile from another #mastadon instance I'm not logged into, would it be that hard to make it like a "mailto:email" link that forwards me back to my instance's search automatically so I can follow them there?

Or would that require browser plugins or a Mastodon client to launch to achieve that kind of functionality?
