1. I understand I will lose access to all my toots when I migrate, but what tool do we use to view the downloaded archive of the toots/media? It seems to be in json format and not accessible to the average human

2. Also: is there a way for me to see just my original toots on my timeline, not the boosts?

3. And when mastodon.lol goes down in 3 months will the boosts of our original content also disappear?

Yeah that is a tricky one. Even I am having the same issue. Maybe if you use one of the many Web Clients or Apps they might have the facility. But the web interface does not have this.

Friends - how do I make a list of people’s posts that I would like to see? Is that possible? For example, I am following George Takei who is on another instance and I have to use search if I want to see it not just scroll through my feed. I know you can follow ppl (obviously lol) & hashtags/topics...on twitter, you can follow a list created by a user, is that possible here?

I use lists a lot. To organize my sports friends by teams (then during a game, I load the corrosponding list & voila, my fellow fans, watching & discussing with me (I add ppl often & also load hashtag I follow))

Sorry to keep sounding so helpless with this app, but I've been trying to email and sent several requests to reset my password, but have yet to get any response or reset email.

Anyone have any experience getting through to anyone with a password reset? I need to get a new phone soon because this one is no longer receiving updates, and I'll lose access to this account once that happens.

How does one find new content on Mastadon? The search seems to work for people or hashtags but when I try to search for content like say “Ronaldo” it never comes back even though I’m sure there are discussions occurring all over. #NewMastodonUsers #mastadonhelp

So ... can people be a part of more than one instance? For instance, if I want to stay on the server I'm on and be able to talk about anything, can I also be part of an instance that only shows animal photos? Or do I not have to be part of that instance, do I just search that instance or something like that?

Yo #mastadon basic question: Just got accepted into the epicure.social server and am thinking of transferring over since most of my social is Wine/food related. Who’s changed servers and how easy was it? I only just jumped into this scene like two days ago so it’s not like I’ve got a whole heap of content yet. But just looking to hear other’s experiences and if it’s even worth it to change. #mastadonhelp
