太平山で伐採された木材は、今の宜蘭羅東駅の隣にあった竹林駅へ貨物列車に乗って運ばれました。
今は羅東林場文化園區として市民も楽しめるレジャー施設にリニューアルされています。
日本統治時代の歴史を感じることができます。

Surrounded by water gives Florida some of the country’s most beautiful sunsets and reflections. This after-sunset sky painted the atmosphere and bay with pinks, blue, cream, purple and gray. We stayed on this little dock for awhile taking it all in.

A lone Brown Pelican makes it’s way across this Florida bay late one winter afternoon. I liked the bank of puffy white cumulus clouds in the distance and how they cast pretty reflections on the glassy water. A peaceful end to the day.

I titled this image Air Dance but it wasn’t a friendly pas de deux (dance for two) in the sky. These two Great Egrets we actually having an altercation in the sky above the bay. A serendipitous photograph of something we don’t see everyday.

Anyone who lives in Florida knows to be on the lookout for alligators whenever around an inland body of water. This toothy reptile was seen resting on the river bank at a local state park.

It was such a moody evening when we went to the beach for sunset on this balmy summer night. The fiery orange ball is seen through the bare stalks of sea oat plants and beach grass as a few seagulls headed for home was a perfect photo op.

A vacant bench is always an invitation to sit awhile and that’s exactly what we did on this beautiful evening at the shore. The sky was filled with pretty altocumulus clouds and we had the beach all to ourselves. Perfect!
