I am delighted to have gotten the final revisions back on my short horror story collection for my masters capstone project, and my first reader (she's a fabulous memoirist and journalist in her 80s) is such a joy that I have to share her comment on one my stories:

"OH MY GOD, NICOLE! This is so hideous! Now I can hardly breathe!"

That's the very best kind of compliment!!

Okay, just over halfway through the revision of the analytical portion of my #MastersCapstone. The next section or two will be the densest to revise, I think, so tomorrow will be revisions in my home office rather than down here on the livingroom couch. Sometimes you need a couple of screens and some dedicated quiet, you know? I'm convinced I can have the analytical revision done by the time I go back to work next Tuesday.

Did a little bit of work on my #MastersCapstone project today, which is now--including both the analytical and creative components--179 pages. I pity the folks who are going to have to read this in order to let me graduate. I mean, it's all interesting stuff about the #Horror genre, #gender, and #RecreationalFear as a method of coping with #COVID19 (including my own experience as a #HorrorFan & #Writer), but it's really... detailed. And I could probably easily add another 20 pages.

It's personal infrastructure day--weeeeeee! This morning it's off to the dentist, followed by a massage appointment (icy weather be damned), then an afternoon of slothful couching... with a bit of time spent revising my masters capstone for good measure.

I had my 1st masters capstone review w/ my 2nd reader last week. The chief feedback is I need to signpost my analytic sections--not surprising given my approach to academic writing is less academic & more as though I'm writing creatively. But it's solid critique that is a doable fix! My 3rd review w/ my 1st reader is Friday, & I suspect I'll have complete feedback on the creative capstone component at that point. Let the revisions begin!
