We not sure it matters how long the site had been up for. It was up and was allegedly violating the #AGPL license.

We assume the infringement has been archived.

Even if the site is taken down, the actions taken to date along with information that is alleged to have been on the site, does suggest a bad faith violations of the license and this does impact negatively the community that built the #software.

Also the #hypocrisy is #ironic on multiple levels.

Its international scale.

A ex-president attempts to start a #socialPlatform supposedly to support truth by #lying about the origins of the software. Labelling the #Mastodon icon a mere bug, and labelling the platform proprietary, and not upholding the #AGPL license.

Is everyone looking forward to seeing this story in the international news, where it should be?

It deserves a proper hashtag – #mastoGate?
