Hey #mastoadmin and bot builders. I've been playing with ChatGPT and other LLM and built a bot in node.js to be the assistant for my instance.

I'm having fun with it so I figured I'd put the code up on my Github here: https://github.com/pviglucci/bot

It's a bit rough and assumes knowledge of Mastodon applications, the API, openai, and node, so use it in the spirit of tinkering.

It's configured to be a service available to all users on an instance, but could easily be reconfigured to be a personal bot for an individual.

This is just for fun and not meant to prompt a flamewar on the ethical, political, economic, etc arguments of AI.

I just wanted a simple interface to ChatGPT in the app I spend a lot of time in during the day.

With the mastodon 4.1.0 upgrade released today, there are a number of user features as well as admin commands, with one key one for a lto fo admins being the new media pruning commands.

More options for pruning old media files - tootctl media help remove

Pruning accounts that don't interact with your instance - tootctl accounts help prune

Purging domains from your instance - tootctl domains help purge

Helping /replaying migration of accounts - tootctl accounts help migrate

Support for import/export of domain blocks

Listing followed hashtags by users

Although the main domain name for a Mastodon site of mine goes directly to Mastodon, I thought it might be nice to have access to a “regular” (actually static) website, so I put a simple one at the /www/ path.
