Dicks will be dicks. It’d be impossible to code #Mastodon to somehow make dick-moves impossible, but certainly it’s a #MastodonBug that I cannot post a reply to a msg that mentions me. Fair enough if their mention is stripped from my post, but it’s effectively designed so that someone can put shit under someone else’s name and block them from defending themself.

Is it #assholeDesign or #crappyDesign?

Depending on the instance (updated or not) upload is available, BUT just the first image of a small (446kb) animated webP image is displayed. I downloaded the image and the rest of the webP animation is missing.

It's a pity, webP animation is way superior in quality to GIF and smaller to.

I have no idea if this is a bug in Mastodon, or whether it's a deliberate (mis-)feature that I don't understand the reasoning behind. I have reproduced the problem.

My replies to other peoples' posts do not show up when viewing my personal page from a different, not-logged-in session in another browser. They're invisible.

I don't have any privacy options turned on that would appear to affect this.

It explains why I can't find your posts about it.

@tchambers @lrhodes I just tried to view your post on merveilles.town and it was a total mess. Small icons take up my whole screen. Black text overlaps images w/black backgrounds. Total disaster. This is in #UgoogledChromium over tor with all 1st party javascript enabled. There is no 3rd party js so no idea how merveilles.town is so messed up. #MastodonBug

@waldoj @lightweight It’s been my complaint since the begining of the #fedi: people post #walledGarden links w/reckless disregard as if everyone is a part of all walled gardens. The fedi is helpless in dealing w/this. #MastodonBug

My fedi habit: I read a thread, reply to ppl, and then followup their replies. I rarely revisit the whole thread from the top to see who else replied w/me out of the loop. It’s a bad habit. A good client would facilitate me seeing new thread branches… but not in a noisy way. Perhaps a one-liner saying “new branch that does not mention you in a subscribed thread”. #MastodonBug

Some really screwy shit happens w/the #Mastodon server when I delete a post & resend a new version. My client does not have an edit option so I have to micro-manage the steps. This seems to trigger a server-side #bug. I wonder if it could be a broken defense mechanism for an attack. #MastodonBug

#Mastodon #polls really lie. When I view this poll from my own account, I see 41 votes: yes 36, no 1, no-but 4. When i view this poll from another account, only 5 of those votes are tallied. That is really misleading. What’s the workaround for this #MastodonBug? I think I’ve seen some people screenshot polls & post their screenshot, though it’s not common practice. #askfedi

Why do I still have 40 notifications despite reading all my notifications several times? Is this a bug in Mastodon or something I'm doing wrong that they're not clearing?

#Fedi feature request: URLs are insufficient. When someone posts a link to an article, there should be a field where they can paste the full article’s text into. No one has the same browser, IP & config as post authors. Post authors reach content that’s unreachable to others. The author may have gone through hoops to view the article; then every reader has to dance too? #MastodonBug

I have accts on multiple Mastodon nodes. Some nodes have this problem regardless of whether popup blocking is enabled in the browser. But some instances do not have the issue and the confirmation popup appears. So it could be version-dependent or config-dependent.

@cjmoose @jeridansky @JonathanMosen @weirdwriter One quite annoying bug is that the so-called hashtag “suggestion” feature is quite imposing. I type what i want & the damn thing is so pushy it's hard to escape the suggestions. It often forces a completely different tag which I later notice then have to update. I got trapped in whack-a-mole. Someone plz report that #mastodonBug as well. If it's a poll, updates lose votes.

@mamday Found another #MastodonBug: hashtags used on poll ballot options fail to get indexed. E.g. the parent msg of this one is missing from search results on #tumbleDryer, #climateAction & #climateChange.

@Boeckli some strange #fedi thing just happened. This post had no votes and no replies when i encountered it. I voted then boosted. Then after interacting with the post I instantly see older replies & 61 votes. That’s bizarre, no?
