#MastodonClientReview : #Trunks has run its course. There are two problems that need addressed because they are real deal breakers for me.
1. It takes too many taps to attach multiple images to a single post.
2. Lack of support for all media types supported by Mastodon. See attached.

So, I like Trunks a lot. But it has some fundamental problems that need addressed. I will look for a way to support their further development.

@sparkplugtacklehump OK UPDATE - the settings in #Trunks fixes some of my complaints. See images. The Timeline now has the actions exposed and there are a lot of settings that look promising. I REALLY like the Accessibility section and have already increased my font size a little to help my old man eyes. There is also an Experimental section showing the features they are working on. This REALLY shows a lot of thoughtful design. I will see about sending them monetary support and my wish list. 1. Option to get files other than from Photos app. 2. Full implementation of Safari password manager. … um, etc.
oh and PS the color themes are free. They could be behind a paywall but they aren’t. Neat! #MastodonClientReview

Ok #Trunks , whatchyegot for me? #MastodonClientReview is back on. First up, just signing into my server, this app has an incomplete Safari password storage implementation making you do it the long way. See pic; this does not bode well.

And finally, no one can read my follow up posts about #Tootoise because the default post audience is Locked to Me Only and you cannot go back and Edit the post to change its audience. Sorry but you didn’t even last the hour. Buggy photos sharing, too. Nope. So pretty. Eyes as blue as the sky cuz of all that air behind them. #MastodonClientReview

Next up for #MastodonClientReview is #Tootoise - There is a lot to like here and a lot I don’t like. So far it’s all about preferences but not the kind you can change in this app. First up is that you cannot by default Favorite anything from the Timeline. And the only way to enable that is in a Triple Tap setting of the app. However, you cannot repost or comment from the Timeline. You have to Long Press on the post to see the full post and then you can see a row of buttons to repost, etc.

#MastodonClientReview Ok #Tooot you have ben easy and basic. Still missing non-Photos app image sharing like so many other. Other than that, no complaints. However, maybe do jot enable Push notifications with Tooot because they route your messages thru their servers to do this. Says “encrypted on the server” but not in-flight. No trust of that kinda of thing. Makes me distrust this particular developer just a little. #researchneeded

The rest of the nav is real clear and easy. Kinda want the account switching to be one less tap, but it is still among the best I’ve seen.

#MastodonClientReview , #Tootle … Moving on to Tootle. First thoughts are that the UI icons are very small, even on my iPhone Max screen. And there are just A LOT of them. I like the idea of “surface everything we can” and I’ll hope for settings around that, maybe.

#MastodonClientReview , #Manny … GAWD I want to give this one my fullest endorsement. It looks and works great. It is missing ONE feature that I really need: The ability to post an image, video, or other allowed file from a source other than the Photos app. For example, iCloud Drive, DropBox, etc. other than that it is PERFECT. I left them a review say all this, plus sent them a tip to aid further development. I have decided to keep this app, hoping that my one wish will come true for it.

Oops there it is. Can’t attach photos from iCloud Drive, only from the Photos library. Grr. #Manny was almost perfect. But that’s a deal killer for me. #MastodonClientReview
