There are several features such as #hashtag following and so forth which are not yet available on this instance, but which seem to be widely used.

When will the #software be updated, please?

I'd like to know what Mastodon.cloud users think about this. Good, bad idea?

@CassandraZeroCovid #MastodonCloud behaved very poorly here. That was my instance at the time (@dredmorbius@mastodon.cloud, now forwarded here), and the WilW episode was astrong factor in my decision to ultimately move elsewhere.

@lrz , yes, following hashtags was introduced in Mastodon 4. #MastodonCloud is still hooked in version 3.4.

It was said an imminent update, but we are still waiting. Let see in 2023.

@joemcl , in this thread (https://mastodon.cloud/@WiteWulf/109365533929993852 ) it was talked about donations and the instance upgrade.

It seems they are currently not open to donations as claim they have enough at the moment.

The outage was warning in Twitter. Apparently it was a network issue.

I think it would be interesting posts as a global notice . Most of people doesn't care instance version, but some of us are looking for last features that bring us version 4. If I hadn't caught this toot, I'd missed your message.

I look forward to #MastodonCloud upgrading to Mastodon software version 4.0. In particular I look forward to following #hashtags and #editing toots (instead of the stopgap "delete & redraft", which I do appreciate still).

That said, with over 230.000 registered users, and at least 80.000 active, I do understand a server upgrade /will not/ be a trivial undertaking.

Yes there are valid arguments against overly large instances, but MastoCloud is also a historical instance imo. Worth preserving.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if you know who’s #mastodoncloud #admin. I reached to @Sujiyan but I am suspecting that they might not be active. The reason I reached out was because the version of #mastodonserver #software it’s using is versions behind. Missing some nice #features. Any #suggestion on how I can get ahold of the admin?

I'm still learning, but it would seem that the version of Mastodon on #MastodonCloud (the instance I'm on at the moment) is several builds old (3.4.6 vs. 4.0.2). Perusing the release list, there've been numerous releases since 3.4.6 came out in February – any way to know when we'll get the latest build? /cc @TheAdmin https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases
