Lots of these design choices seem misguided. Lots of talk about trolling as if it's some great alien evil rather than just inviduals spontaneously organising for a cause of harm rather than good.

BLM and MeToo couldn't happen on Mastodon by design and people expect me to believe that's good actually because fewer trolls?

And anyone who thinks full text search is prevented by not implementing it as part of the platform is as deluded as someone who thinks bad actors will honour your robots.txt.
