Or maybe an #ElkZoneFeature ?

Imagine starting a post, and then checking a box:

This is a thread: ☑️

Then you write out the multiple posts in the thread and submit them.

Then someone comes along and wants to view your thread.

There is a button that says: [View as eBook]

You press it and a Modal window pops up, where your thread appears as flippable pages.

I can see this happening in the future, and I can see a huge boost for any platform that adopts it.

I’m running a small server myself and am missing the value I saw with the trending section to help build my network.

I don't know if it is a new #MastodonFeature or not, but I LOVE that the new notification bell fills in instead of just darkens when you click on it. Such a simple thing, but I have clicked the old notification bell on and off SO MANY times because I couldn't tell if it was enabled by such a small indicator. Now, it is finally clear. Thank you @Gargron and the whichever #MastodonDeveloper implemented this change.

@Gargron another #MastodonFeature that would be nice to have would be the ability to translate Mastodon profiles. I LOVE the ability to translate individual posts. It is easy and works really well. However, profile information is still lost to me.

Just discovered that you can “hide reblogs”. Incredibly useful #mastodonfeature for people who are unintentionally spamming my timeline.

Load missing posts in #mastodon should load them above where you are currently at in your feed, not below since the natural direction you're going is up.

Kinda puts you in the middle which is annoying.

Unless there's a reasoning for it that I don't get?

Some ideas about tags on Mastodon:

- I love following tags, but they can get a little confusing too: as sometimes I'm not sure why a message appears in my timeline. Highlighting followed tags in these messages in some way could remind me why I see them?
- The /following page could add a toggle to show/manage all followed tags.

#MastodonFeature: I’m a programmer. I know this cannot be that hard. Auto-ALT #image #uploads. (Ie: many, many #memes are uploaded… it can’t be THAT hard to OCR them and suggest the #ALT #text for them).

One #MastodonFeature I would love, would be to subscribe to _instances_ and get say ~1/5 of my timeline as the top-most-interactions toots from those instances.

(So a top post on a small hacker instance might be just as likely to show up as a top viral meme on a larger shitposting instance.)

Basically, bringing little bits of "the algorithm" feel, but in a way that makes sense for my interests, and turns the federated structure into a _bonus_ for discoverability.

I think I’m overusing the “delete & re-draft” functionality… what does that make me?

Feature request: an automated function that posts daily (or weekly) how many times I started a Toot but then decided not to click "Publish"

Call it "Better-Judgment-O-Meter", e.g.:

"Today, @rcameronthomas refrained from tooting 14 times! #BetterJudgment"

I genuinely wish you could change your Mastodon username. Like Jesus, I change my artist handle every 2 to 3 years, sometimes sooner, because I cannot help eventually cringing at it. Just let me do it, pleaaaase. I hope someone's at least working on it.
