Disclaimer: if this is a known gap and I’m just making noise, apologies!

When I share a toot from the #MastodoniOS app to an iMessage thread it doesn’t generate an inline preview of the toot. When I open that same toot in Safari (even in the inline browser window within the Mastodon app) and then share, it generates the preview. Screenshots attached to show the behavior.

Does anyone know whether this is something I can fix? Or is this just a pending thing for the iOS app?

@dmc I haven’t seen Trunk before will see if I can get access to it. There are also two more expected Mona, Komondor (haven’t seen TestFlight for them yet). I’m now on Woolly which I just found and love the UI and column option like the old Tootle app has although it can use some further fixes and features. Mastoot and Tooot are nice. Tooot @tooot released an update in App Store: saved hashtags support (after having already list support). Push notifications work amazing now with my@ nstance as well.

Hope to see these things added in a future release to make it perfect:
- Quick access to saved hashtags and lists in footer menu
- Remember last position in timeline
- Add GIF, Drawing to post
- Theme colors
- Autoplay video
- Copy image gallery> paste in post

My one big complaint about #Tootle is that it doesn’t apply the mute filters I’ve set directly with Mastodon, which means I’m forced to see all the dumb W*rdle posts and Twitter retweets (“RT@ …”). Has anyone successfully solved this bug? #mastodonapps #mastodonios

@boud I'm not sure I see what you're seeing.

I also suspect most signups come from the official mobile apps. I see that some work is ongoing in #MastodonIOS:

Swapping between iOS mastodon clients. For a quick catch up on the Home timeline I tend to use #Mastoot as I love the unread toot counter, but for catching up on the Local timeline I use #Tusker as #Mastoot does not allow one tap timeline charging or holding position on any timeline except Home.
