Can anyone verify if I did this right? I'm trying to add the verification link on my website, using the Elementor plugin for Wordpress.
I added the Mastodon icon to the list of social media profiles at the bottom of the main page. I added the link in the link section, and in the custom attributes section, I have rel|"me"
I tried without the quotes around the word "me" first, but then it shows in the source code without the quotes, but when I added them that seemed to work #MastodonVerification

The #MastodonVerification thing where you link back to your profile from one of your links.

Does it have to be on the exact page you are linked to, or just on that domain?
My profile links to the homepage of my author website, but I have my social media profiles on my about page. Will that work? And if so, how long will it take for the checkmark to show up?

Just discovered that if you have 2 Mastodon accounts and add links to each other in the profile section - they verify one another!!

I've been trying to get mastodon verification from a website I built. I added the micro format rel="me" backlink in the footer of the site. But it's not showing as verified. Why is this? Is there a delay in it appearing?

you can #verify your #mastodon account with a modified anchor tag on your homepage and then setting the link in your profile as "Profile metadata"
