Hat eigentlich schon jemand rausgekriegt, wann bei der Web-App von Mastodon die Timelineposition erhalten bleibt und wann sie ganz nach oben springt, wenn man auf ,,x neue Beiträge'' klickt?
Kann man das irgendwie steuern?

E' FASTIDIOSISSIMO e foriero di errori mentre si scrive. Sapevatelo :-)

(a magari se qualcuno che sviluppa la UI Web riuscisse a trovare una soluzione o un comportamente meno rigido, sarebbe bello)

It would be better if #MastodonWeb had an option to open external profiles through original instance by default (in new tab), especially once extensions like #FediAct become common.
Now that I think about it, this could be an idea for such extension.

Using #Mona, #MastodonWeb with some #Icecubes, over #Ivory with worries over how non-standard it was and how I was locking myself in. My time using Ivory wasn't wasted as it helped me clarify what I wanted in a Mastodon app.

Why is the emoji pop-up chooser on #MastodonWeb so laggy on the Safari browser? Does it do the same on Chrome or others too? It always makes me feel reluctant to use the emojis when on the web UI >_<

When browsing #MastodonWeb on desktop, I highly recommend an extension called #FediAct. It acts as an intermediary for interactions made on other instances to be sent back to your home #Mastodon instance. Once you install such thing, you won't have to think about it twice. :rickhey:

It IS unfortunate that browsers will put sticks into wheels to prevent cross-origin requests authored by individual #MastodonWeb applications. But at the same time, I feel it's for better security that would be non-existent otherwise.

For example, #FediAct allows you to go above such limitations. Still, it took a bit of advisories to make such thing less exploitable: https://github.com/Lartsch/FediAct/issues/6 👨‍🔧

We should not exactly control and deny interactions purely by the means of two separate #Mastodon websites: either one will selectively refuse requests from another or that another can fake interactions on behalf of yourself. Intermediary #WebExtension such as #FediAct, however, will know whether interaction was made manually or not. 💪

Plus on ajoute de colonnes épinglées, plus elle se retrouve loin et plus il faut faire défiler de droite à gauche et de gauche à droite. 😣

#MastodonWeb gravely lacks the button to open post on another instance, or I just don't get it. #Matrix handles federated URLs better, IMO - via matrix.to one can choose their favorite client. Although, I must say, Matrix went as far as to open rooms in desktop client (mostly, what you'd expect from flagship communication app), but there aren't very known #Mastodon desktop clients out there to begin with. So some service to which I can link for people to choose *their* instance would be enough.

@jarunmb aw, I see. Well, #MastodonWeb client is actually quite decent, except the lack of better pointer feedback, the obvious horizontal overflow once logged out, and hella slow time to initial render. I can foresee how these can be solved in #Mastodon #PWA on #CSS 'n' #JavaScript side, just need more time for myself to do some contributing if none yet is made in that regard.
