Couldn't help but fix a missing period in an old popular toot just now. Hazard of having an edit button.

I think it means the post gets bumped up in the notifications feeds of those who liked/boosted it, which makes me feel guilty.

Prob a deterrent for us shy folk and motivation for attention seekers. :)

What are the Masto-ethics of reposting someone’s tweet from The Bad Place over here? It seems iffy at best to send traffic that way but SO many great voices are not yet part of the Fediverse. Using screenshots seems appropriative—cutting the originator of content out of their own post and the response to it.

Would welcome advice from anyone who’s been here a lot longer.

Etiquette is a valuable understanding & perhaps a lost art; it helps to understand the impact of our choices. Is there a nice graphic which explains each button? The dirty bird site perhaps manages engagement behind the scenes, whereas the elephant 🐘 site requires participants to understand and be selective about those interactions, if I'm understanding.

Now, the #Instagram ways of many there, to #Follow --> #IFollowBack --> then they #Unfollow, just to boost their Follower numbers is so very low.

Hope this trend doesn't happen here on #Mastodon. But let me just go ahead and say it: if you do that you're dead to me, DEAD!! 😅 To which I mean, blocked 🚫 #MastoEtiquette

Slowly unfollowing people who boost people who don't CW.
