Not sure if this is interesting or new to anyone, but these are a few things I would like to see when exploring servers:

- I prefer a server in the EU. I live in the EU and I kinda like that we have laws here, as opposed to the US (Error 404 no laws found). So I want those laws to apply to the server etc. It would be nice if this type of info was mentioned.

- Do people use CWs and alt text? (I'm not saying it should be a hard rule.)

- How many admins and mods do you have? Are they ciswhitestraightmale?

I decided on this server (strangeobject.space) because it looked nice AND because it had all this info available straight away.

No server is going to be perfect (?) but browsing would be easier with this information on hand.

Looks like all my work on updating Gamepad.Club has paid off!

After spending some time tuning the configuration, the instance feels much more responsive with none of the slowdown experienced previously.

We’ve even had user migrations come over with no hit to performance. I’d call that a win!

1. General-purpose, queer friendly (ideally queer-run), disability and neurodivergent friendly, friendly in general, inhospitable to right-wing, bigots, etc. With lots of cute people. 100-1000 active users.

2. NSFW-oriented, otherwise pretty much the same as 1.

#fediverse question: Does #instance size matter? I know I have to #migrate from #MastodonLol and plan to but I'm pretty stuck up on where to go. There are some smaller instances that I really like but I'm afraid that I might struggle for interactions due to the small size.
