#mastondonquestions I am unable to open Mastodon on my desktop so I can upload pictures. I am doing everything correctly using the proper site and login information but it does not recognize me? I’ve looked on line for help but have been unsuccessful. I am using an iPad app is that the problem? Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm really trying to understand how Mastodon #search works.

I'm on https://mastodon.sdf.org and trying to search for posts with "cat" on them. When I search for "cat" I get results under "posts" that show the hashtag #cat, but I don't see as many posts as I think I should considering we're talking about "cats on the internet."

But when I search for the hashtag #cat I get no exact matches under "Hashtags" and no "Posts." What am doing wrong?
