There are several desktop environments based on GTK besides GNOME, such as #Budgie, #Cinnamon, #LXDE, #MATE, #Unity, #XFCE. They are the standard for many operating system distributions.

GNOME Web can also be perfectly used on other desktops, such as those based on the Qt library (KDE, LXQt, Deepin etc). It's just that it takes advantage of already-loaded GTK libraries, saving resources and being more integrated with the rest of the system.

Was mich extrem nervte, und wofür ich adhoc in n+1 #Gnome-Untermenü keine Lösung fand, war die Tatsache, dass ich mit Strg-Alt-T keine Konsole mehr bekam. Grundgütiger, warum machte sich bei GNOME jemand ernsthaft die Mühe, dieses Tastaturkürzel zu entfernen. Es war spät, ich recht pissig, also erstmal "goodbye Debian Gnome!"
#MATE versucht: Hmm, das wirkte jetzt im direkten Vergleich aber seeehr "altbacken", also erstmal nicht. Kommen wir zu #CINNAMON, und dann ich gleich LDME testen:

Después de personalizar aún más KDE y probar Mate tengo que decirle adiós al primero con toda mi desilusión. El procesador tiene casi 10 grados menos de temperatura y no necesito más. KDE no es para un Intel celeron del 2014 (o por lo menos para este portátil)

Ahora mismo estoy con un sabor agridulce. Me he dado cuenta de que el procesador de mi portátil no termina de aguantar KDE sin superar los 60 Grados haciendo más bien poco. Aunque por lo demás tiene buen rendimiento. Por lo que tendré que irme a mate que es uno de los primeros escritorios que tuve el placer de probar (xfce no porque estoy aburrida de él, básicamente. Y lxde/lxqt como que ya sería pasarse)

@GianniLivore avresti dovuto dire: "se volete che debian assomigli a Windows 10..." perché il concetto di "migliore" è molto soggettivo. Per me il solo fatto che debba esserci uno start menu e che i menu delle finestre non siano spostabili in un menù globale (cosa che si può fare con MATE, KDE e Budgie ad esempio) mi fa rizzare i peli sulla schiena... Tra l'altro una buona via di mezzo tra Cinnamon e GNOME è proprio #Budgie, che interpreto come un #MATE modernizzato e adattato ai tempi nostri.
