Amused. I misread a post that used the tag #AIethics (with a capital 'i') as #Alethics (small 'l') - as in #Alethiometer from #PhilipPullman #HisDarkMaterials - and thought wow! Is this a thing in #ai research? I think it should be now ☺️ - the study of #Dust - both in Pullman’s sense (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust_(His_Dark_Materials) and #GregEgan in his extraordinary #PermutationCity (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permutation_City) - a book that I revisit every few years because it is both incredibly disturbing and endlessly fascinating to think about. And #MaxTegmark #MathematicalUniverseHypothesis https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_universe_hypothesis. I suspect I am a #RadicalPlatonist.
