Using sensitivity analysis for multispecies #maps (aka #nonlinear #matrixmodels), we further show the coexistence mechanism to be robust to #perturbations of parameters. However, simulations with many species showed that this "emergent coexistence" mechanism is not sufficient to promote many-species coexistence on its own. Therefore it is likely most useful to explain coexistence between some pairs of intensely competing species, rather than as a general explanation of coexistence. 2/3
