We watched the 2019 Max Steiner documentary aired on TCM. It was fairly interesting, if long and hagiographic. But its biggest flaw was not focusing more on the music he and his world-class music departments created

Instead we got snippets of Michael Feinstein playing piano themes and the BYU orchestra re-creating brief orchestral excerpts. Licensing issues, perhaps? It would have been much better with extended excerpts of the *real* music
