I lived in a small Iowa town when I was a young child. One of my favorite things was making May Day Baskets and filling them with hand-picked flowers and small candies. We used to get the wallpaper books the store was about to toss to create the “basket.” Picking newly blossomed violets was the best ever since they were my favorite color!
