Recently re-watched Death Race 2000 for the Mastodon Bad Movie Club! Think the best way I can describe this is an Oliver Stone-esque social satire on a Lloyd Kaufman-esque budget. An all-star exploitation film cast coupled with Paul Bartel's dark comedic musings make this grindhouse classic worthy of National Film Registry preservation, imho. '2069: SEX ODYSSEY' (1974)
'Sexy females from the planet Venus are sent to Earth to bring back sperm samples to their planet.' This is your standard ‘alien women come to Earth to find men to procreate with and save their planet’ sex comedy. It’s free on PLEX, if you’re curious. I’m not gonna say I recommend it, but the terrible dubbing and corny dialogue (and the gratuitous nudity) kept me thoroughly entertained. 😂

I’ve wanted to see this one for a while now. This weapon looks ridiculous in practice, because it relies on its target being an absolute moron. There’s a series of these films. Each one getting crazier and crazier as they go.

In my quest to see everything #GodfreyHo ‘directed,’ I watched ‘Ninja Squad’ for the #MBMC. This is one of over FIFTY Godfrey Ho films with the word “Ninja” in the title (not exaggerating). This one is hilarious for so many reasons, but my favorite is the fact that the ninjas wear headbands that say ‘Ninja’ on them. 😂

I watched ‘Frankenstein’s Castle of Freaks’ for #MBMC and I watched the ‘Movie Macabre’ version on #freevee. I forgot how much fun it was to watch @TheRealElvira make bad jokes at the commercial breaks. This movie is BAD!! I mean, the effects are terrible, the ‘acting’ is unforgivable, the dubbing is awful and the story is so incoherent it has to be seen to be believed. I LOVED it!! This is why I started #MastodonBadMovieClub.

I watched ‘Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death’ for #MBMC and I have to say that I think Full Moon Features is quickly becoming one of my favorite movie production companies. This one skews more into comedy than normal, but it’s good comedy. There are moments that actually reminded me of ‘Airplane.’ If you can stomach Bill Maher, this is him at his least annoying.

So, I watched ‘Robo Vampire’ for #MBMC and I immediately need to see EVERY #GodfreyHo film he’s ever ‘directed.’ I put ‘directed’ in quotes because it’s more like editing really. Ho splices together multiple movies to make his films, with absolutely no regard for continuity and it’s hilarious. No, your eyes do not deceive you. This movie has a ton going on in it and it just gets more and more batshit the longer you watch it. 😂
